Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 20^th August 2024.  As usual, we will start playing shorter games from 7.30pm as people arrive, until 8pm when we will start something a little longer.  The pub is doing food, and the table is booked from 6.30pm for those that would like to eat first.

This week, the “Feature Game” will be Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails which is a variant of the popular train game, where players build  two connected networks, one on land and one on sea covering the whole globe.  Players build these with two separate sets of cards, making it a more complex version of the game.  Other, less complex versions will also be available, as well as a variety of other games.

And speaking of global travel…

Jeff called his travel agent with a question about the documents he needed for his up-coming flight to China. After a lengthy discussion about passports, the travel agent politely reminded Jeff that he needed a visa.

“Oh no I don’t,” replied Jeff, “I’ve been to China many times and never had to have one of those.”

The travel agent I double checked and sure enough, the stay required a visa. When the this was explained, Jeff answered, “Look, I’ve been to China four times and every time they have accepted American Express.”
