Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 3^rd September 2024.  As usual, we will start playing shorter games from 7.30pm as people arrive, until 8pm when we will start something a little longer.  The pub is doing food, and the table is booked from 6.30pm for those that would like to eat first.

This week, the “Feature Game” will be Kavango (rules, review, how to play video, rules summary video), which is a card drafting game where players are building an animal reserve by collecting tags and adding animals to their tableau.  As such, it takes element from games like Sushi Go!, 7 Wonders, Wingspan, Meadow, Ark Nova and Terraforming Mars, but has a different feel to all of them.

And speaking of animals…

On a recent holiday to Africa Jeff went on a wildlife safari. It was fantastic seeing all the animals in their natural habitat, until he found the biggest elephant he’d ever seen lying dead on the ground. Sitting on top of the elephant was a pygmy.

Shocked, Jeff exclaimed, “That’s the biggest elephant I’ve ever seen!”

“Yes, I’ve just killed it,” answered the Pygmy.

Jeff was curious, and asked, “How on earth did someone of your size kill a beast like that?”

The Pygmy replied, “I killed it with my club.”

Jeff was astounded. “Wow, how big is your club?”

“Well,” said the Pygmy, “There’s over two hundred of us now…”
